In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the lacy diamond stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes photo instructions and a video tutorial (see below). For this crochet stitch you should know how to make a single crochet and a double crochet. The tutorial below shows how to make a treble crochet two together stitch. The lacy diamond stitch is a repeat of two rows. The fabric turns out light and lacy.

Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of four plus one. You will make a treble crochet two together (trc2tog) working in the fifth and in the ninth chain from your hook.

2. So, yarn over twice.

3. Insert your hook in the fifth stitch and yarn over.

4. Pull the yarn through. Now you have four loops on your hook.

5. Yarn over.

6. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have three loops on your hook.

7. Yarn over.

8. Pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have two loops. The first leg is ready.

9. Yarn over twice.

10. Skip three stitches and insert your hook in the next stitch. Yarn over.

11. Pull the yarn through. Now you have five loops on your hook.

12. Yarn over.

13. Pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have four loops on your hook.

14. Yarn over.

15. Pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have three loops on your hook. The second leg is ready.

16. Yarn over.

17. Pull the yarn through all three loops. You have just made a trc2tog!

18. Chain three.

19. Then make a single crochet in the last stitch where you have just worked in.

20. Chain three. Next you will make a trc2tog.

21. So, make the first leg in the same stitch where you have just worked in.

22. Then skip three stitches and make the second leg in the next stitch.

23. Yarn over and complete the trc2tog.

24. Chain three.

25. Make a single crochet in the same stitch where you have just worked in.

26. Then repeat: chain three, trc2tog (the first leg in the same stitch where you have just worked in, skip three stitches and make the second leg), chain three, single crochet in the same stitch.
Row 2

27. The first row should end with a single crochet. Chain five and turn your work around.

28. Make a treble crochet in the top of the trc2tog of the previous row.

29. Chain three.

30. Make a single crochet in the same stitch.

31. Chain three. Next you will make a trc2tog.

32. So, make the first leg in the same stitch where you have just worked in.

33. Make the second leg in the next trc2tog.

34. Chain three.

35. Make a single crochet in the same stitch.

36. Then repeat: chain three, trc2tog, chain three, single crochet in the same stitch.

37. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

38. At the end of the row chain three. Next you will make a treble crochet and a double treble crochet together.

39. So, yarn over twice.

40. Insert your hook in the same stitch where you have just worked in, yarn over and pull the yarn through. Now you have four loops.

41. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have three loops on your hook.

42. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have two loops. The first leg is ready.

43. Yarn over three times.

44. Insert your hook in the base of the turning chain, yarn over and pull the yarn through. Now you have six loops.

45. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have five loops.

46. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have four loops.

47. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have three loops. The second leg is ready.

48. Yarn over and pull the yarn through all three loops.
Row 3

49. Chain four and turn your work around.

50. Make a trc2tog working in the first stitch and in the next trc2tog of the previous row.

51. Chain three.

52. Make a single crochet in the same stitch where you have just worked in.

53. Then repeat: chain three, trc2tog, chain three, single crochet in the same stitch where you have just worked in.

54. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

55. At the end of the row make the second leg of the last trc2tog in the top of the treble crochet of the previous row.

56. Chain three.

57. Make a single crochet in the same stitch where you have just worked in. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-3.
