In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the lattice stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes detailed photo instructions. For this crochet stitch you should know how to make a single crochet. The tutorial below shows how to make a front post treble crochet. The lattice stitch is a repeat of eight rows. The fabric has a beautiful texture.

Photo instructions for the lattice stitch
Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of six plus three. You will start working in the second chain from your hook.

2. So, make a single crochet in the second stitch from your hook.

3. Continue making single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.
Row 2

4. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

5. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.

6. Continue making single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.
Row 3

7. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

8. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.

9. Continue making single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.
Row 4

10. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

11. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.

12. Continue making single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.
Row 5

13. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

14. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.

15. Make two single crochets in the next two stitches. Next you will make a front post treble crochet working in the second single crochet three rows below (in row 2).

16. So, yarn over twice.

17. Insert your hook bringing the post of the second single crochet three rows below to the front.

18. Yarn over.

19. Pull the yarn through. Now you have four loops on your hook.

20. Yarn over.

21. Pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have three loops on your hook.

22. Yarn over.

23. Pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have two loops on your hook.

24. Yarn over and pull the yarn through both loops. You have just made a front post treble crochet!

25. Skip four stitches three rows below from where you have just worked in and make a front post treble crochet in the next stitch.

26. Next you will skip two stitches of this row that are hiding behind the front post treble crochets and work in the next stitch.

27. So, skip two stitches of this row and make a single crochet in the next stitch.

28. Then make three more single crochets in the next three stitches.

29. Make a front post treble crochet working in the next single crochet from where you have just worked in three rows below.

30. Skip four single crochets three rows below and make make a front post treble crochet in the next stitch.

31. Then repeat. Skip the next two stitches of this row and make four single crochets in the next four stitches.

32. Make a front post treble crochet in the next single crochet from where you have just worked in three rows below.

33. Skip four stitches three rows below and make a front post treble crochet in the next stitch.

34. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

35. Then skip two stitches of this row as usually and make three single crochets.
Row 6

36. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

37. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.

38. Continue making single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.
Row 7

39. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

40. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.

41. Continue making single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.
Row 8

42. Chain one and turn your work around.

43. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.

44. Continue making single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.
Row 9

45. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

46. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.

47. Then make a front post treble crochet working in the fourth single crochet three rows below (in row 6).

48. Skip one stitch of this row and make four single crochets in the next four stitches.

49. Make a front post treble crochet in the next stitch from where you have just worked in three rows below.

50. Skip four stitches three rows below and make a front post treble crochet in the next stitch.

51. Skip two stitches of this row and make four single crochets in the next four stitches.

52. Then repeat. Make a front post treble crochet in the next stitch from where you have just worked in three rows below.

53. Skip four stitches three rows below and make a front post treble crochet in the next stitch.

54. Skip two stitches of this row and make four single crochets in the next four stitches.

55. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row until you have two stitches left.

56. Then make a front post treble crochet in the next stitch from where you have just worked in three rows below.

57. Skip one stitch of this row and make a single crochet in the last stitch. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-9.
