In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the lacy stacked leaf stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes detailed photo instructions. The fabric turns out light and lacy.

Photo instructions for the lacy stacked leaf stitch
Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of five plus four. You will start working in the sixth chain from your hook.

2. So, make a double crochet in the sixth chain from your hook.

3. Then make three more double crochets in the same stitch.

4. Chain one.

5. Skip four stitches and make four double crochets in the next stitch.

6. Then repeat. Chain one, skip four stitches and make four double crochets in the next stitch.

7. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row until you have three stitches left.

8. Then skip two stitches and make a double crochet in the last stitch.
Row 2

9. Chain five and turn your work around. Next you will make a double crochet four together working in the next four stitches.

10. You will make the first leg in the second stitch. So, yarn over.

11. Insert your hook in the second stitch and yarn over.

12. Pull the yarn through. Now you have three loops on your hook.

13. Yarn over.

14. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have two loops on your hook. The first leg is ready.

15. Next you will make the second leg in the next stitch. So, yarn over.

16. Insert your hook in the next stitch, yarn over and pull the yarn through. Now you have four loops on your hook.

17. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have three loops on your hook. The second leg is ready.

18. Yarn over.

19. Insert your hook in the next stitch, yarn over and pull the yarn through. Now you have five loops on your hook.

20. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have four loops on your hook. The third leg is ready.

21. Yarn over.

22. Insert your hook in the next stitch, yarn over and pull the yarn through. Now you have six loops on your hook.

23. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first two loops (five loops on your hook). The fourth leg is ready.

24. Yarn over and pull the yarn through all five loops. You have just made a double crochet four together!

25. Chain four.

26. Make another double crochet four together in the next four double crochets of the previous row.

27. Then repeat. Chain four and make a double crochet four together in the next four double crochets.

28. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

29. At the end of the row make a double crochet in the turning chain.
Row 3

30. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

31. Make four double crochets in the next double crochet four together of the previous row.

32. Chain one and make four double crochets in the next double crochet four together.

33. Then repeat. Chain one and make four double crochets in the next double crochet four together.

34. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

35. At the end of the row make a double crochet in the third chain of the turning chain. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-3.
