In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the stacked V and cluster V stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes detailed photo instructions. For this crochet stitch you should know how to make a single crochet and a double crochet. The tutorial below shows how to make a double crochet three together stitch. The stacked V and cluster V stitch is a repeat of two rows. The fabric turns out light and lacy.

Photo instructions for the stacked V and cluster V stitch
Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of eight plus four. You will start working in the fourth chain from your hook.

2. So, make a double crochet in the fourth chain from your hook.

3. Next you will skip three stitches and make a double crochet three together in the next stitch. So, yarn over.

4. Skip three stitches, insert your hook in the next stitch, yarn over and pull the yarn through. Three loops on your hook.

5. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have two loops on your hook.

6. Next you will make the second leg. So, yarn over.

7. Insert your hook in the same stitch, yarn over and pull the yarn through. You have four loops on your hook.

8. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have three loops on your hook.

9. Next you will make the third leg. So, yarn over.

10. Insert your hook in the same stitch, yarn over and pull the yarn through.

11. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first two loops. Four loops on your hook.

12. Yarn over and pull the yarn through all four loops. A double crochet three together is complete!

13. Chain three.

14. Make another double crochet three together in the same stitch.

15. Skip three stitches and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

16. Chain two and make another double crochet in the same stitch.

17. Skip three stitches and make a double crochet three together in the next stitch.

18. Chain three and make another double crochet three together in the same stitch.

19. Then repeat. Skip three stitches and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

20. Chain two and make a double crochet in the same stitch.

21. Skip three stitches and make a double crochet three together in the next stitch.

22. Chain three and make another double crochet three together in the same stitch.

23. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row, until you have four stitches left.

24. Then skip three stitches and make two double crochets in the last stitch.
Row 2

25. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

26. Make a double crochet in the first stitch.

27. Make a double crochet in the next chain two space.

28. Chain two and make another double crochet in the same chain two space.

29. In the next chain two space make a double crochet, chain two and make another double crochet.

30. In the next chain three space make a double crochet, chain two and another double crochet.

31. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

32. At the end of the row make two double crochets in the turning chain.
Row 3

33. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

34. Make a double crochet in the first stitch.

35. Make a double crochet three together in the next chain two space.

36. Chain three and make another double crochet three together in the same chain three space.

37. Make a double crochet in the next chain two space.

38. Chain two and make a double crochet in the same chain two space.

39. Make a double crochet three together in the next chain two space.

40. Chain three and make another double crochet three together in the same chain two space.

41. Then repeat. In the next chain two space make a double crochet, chain two and another double crochet.

42. In the next chain two space make a double crochet three together.

43. Chain three and make a double crochet three together in the same chain two space.

44. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

45. At the end of the row make two double crochets in the turning chain. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-3.
