Materials
- Yarn: any thin yarn will work. I used Järbo 8/4 100% Cotton Mercerized & Gassed 50 g yarn, color: 32032 (frosty green).
- Hook: as suggested on your yarn label. I used hook size 2.0.

- st: stitch
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- dc: double crochet
- prev: previous
- rep * *: repeat from * to *
Notes
The size of my coaster is 8.5 x 8.0 cm. You will work in rows. This pattern uses the lemon peel stitch. Photo instructions below show the main steps how to make this stitch. It is a repeat of one row. The size of the coaster can be easily adjusted by chaining more or less in the beginning (keep in mind that it should be an odd number of chains) and repeating row 2 until you will form a nice rectangle.
Pattern
Start by chaining 23 (you can adjust the size by chaining more or less, but it should be an odd number of chains).
Row 1: sc in the 2nd ch from your hook, dc in the next st, *sc in the next st, dc in the next st*, rep ** until the end of the row.
Row 2: ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc in the 1st st, dc in the next st *sc in the next st, dc in the next st*, rep ** until the end of the row.
Row 3-18: repeat row 2.
Fasten off.

Row 1
1. Start by chaining 23. You will start working in the second chain from your hook.
2. So, make a single crochet in the second chain from your hook.
3. Then make a double crochet in the next stitch.
4. Make a single crochet in the next stitch and a double crochet in the next one.
5. Then repeat: make a single crochet in the next stitch and a double crochet in the next one.
6. Keep working in the same way until the end of the row. The should end with a double crochet.
Row 2
7. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.
8. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.
9. Make a double crochet in the next stitch.
10. Then repeat: make a single crochet in the next stitch and a double crochet in the next one.
11. The row should end with a double crochet made in last stitch. For the rest of the pattern repeat row 2.
