In this free step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the broken stripes stitch. This stitch is a solid crochet stitch. It looks great in two or multiple colors: simply change the yarn color after every row. It is also a reversible crochet stitch that looks the same on both sides. The broken stripes stitch creates dense but not very thick fabric and works great for washcloths, decorative pillow covers, scarves and cowls, cardigans, wraps and home decor projects.

This crochet stitch tutorial includes detailed photo instructions. The broken stripes stitch is a one-row repeat. For this crochet stitch you should know how to make single crochet. It is very easy to make and suitable for crochet beginners.
