In this free step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the double crochet net stitch. This stitch is a lacy crochet stitch. The fabric turns out very light and breathable. It is also a reversible crochet stitch that looks the same on both sides. The double crochet net stitch works great for shawls and wraps, lightweight scarves, lacy crochet summer tops and tanks, market bags and other summer crochet projects.

Materials and tools
Yarn: For this tutorial I use Soft FRAYA Cotton 8/4 100% Organic cotton 50g – 180 m yarn, color: navy blue. However, you can use your favorite yarn depending on the crochet project.
Hook: I use a 2.0 mm hook. If you are using a different yarn, choose the hook size that is recommended on your yarn label.

Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of four. You will start working in the eighth chain from your hook.

2. So, make a double crochet in the eighth chain from your hook.

3. Chain four.

4. Skip three stitches and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

5. Then repeat. Chain four.

6. Skip three stitches and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

7. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row. The row should end with a double crochet.
Row 2

8. Chain five and turn your work around.

9. Make a double crochet in the first chain four space.

10. Chain four.

11. Make a double crochet in the next chain four space.

12. Then repeat. Chain four and make a double crochet in the next chain four space.

13. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row. Then chain four as usual.

14. Skip the next two chains of the turning chain and make a double crochet in the next chain. For the rest of the pattern repeat row 2.
