In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the lacy aligned picot stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes detailed photo instructions. For this crochet stitch you should know how to make a double crochet. The tutorial below shows how to make a slip stitch and a picot stitch. The lacy aligned picot stitch is a repeat of two rows. The fabric turns out very light and lacy.
For this tutorial I use Hjertegarn DIAMOND mercerized cotton 8/4, 50 g = 165 m, color: 706 (sea green), and a 2.0 mm hook.

Photo instructions for the lacy aligned picot stitch
Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of four plus two. You will start working in the tenth chain from your hook.

2. So, make a double crochet in the tenth chain from your hook.

3. Chain three, skip three stitches and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

4. Then repeat. Chain three, skip three stitches and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

5. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.
Row 2

6. Chain five and turn your work around. Next you will make a slip stitch in the second chain of the chain three.

7. So, insert your hook in the second chain of the chain three, yarn over and pull the yarn through. Now you have two loops on your hook.

8. Pull the first loop through the second one. You have just made a slip stitch.

9. Chain three.

10. Make another slip stitch in the same chain. You have just made a picot!

11. Chain two.

12. Make a double crochet in the next double crochet.

13. Then repeat. Chain two.

14. Make a slip stitch in the second chain of the next chain three.

15. Chain three.

16. Make another slip stitch in the same chain.

17. Chain two.

18. Make a double crochet in the next double crochet.

19. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

20. At the end of the row chain two.

21. Skip the next chain of the turning chain and make a slip stitch in the next chain.

22. Chain three and make another slip stitch in the same chain.

23. Chain two, skip the next chain and make a double crochet in the next chain.
Row 3

24. Chain six and turn your work around.

25. Make a double crochet in the next double crochet.

26. Chain three and make a double crochet in the next double crochet.

27. Then repeat. Chain three and make a double crochet in the next double crochet.

28. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

29. At the end of the row make the last double crochet in the third chain of the turning chain. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-3.
