Lacy cupcake stitch

In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the lacy cupcake stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes detailed photo instructions. For this crochet stitch you should know how to make a double crochet. The tutorial below shows how to make a treble crochet and a slip stitch. The lacy cupcake stitch is a repeat of four rows. The fabric turns out light and lacy.

Crochet stitch tutorial: Lacy cupcake stitch

Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of five plus four. You will start working in the fourth chain from your hook.

2. So, make two double crochets in the fourth chain from your hook.

3. Skip four stitches and in the next stitch make three double crochets.

4. Chain three. Next you will make a slip stitch in the third chain from your hook.

5. So, insert your hook in the third chain from your hook.

6. Yarn over.

7. Pull the yarn through. Now you have two loops on your hook.

8. Pull the first loop through the second one. You have just made a slip stitch.

9. Make two more double crochets in the same stitch.

10. Then repeat. Skip four stitches and make three double crochets in the next stitch.

11. Chain three.

12. Make a slip stitch in the third chain from your hook.

13. Make two double crochets in the same stitch.

14. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row until you have five stitches left.

15. Then skip four stitches and make three double crochets in the last stitch.

Row 2

16. Chain five and turn your work around. Next you will make a treble crochet in the space between the two double crochet clusters.

17. So, yarn over twice.

18. Insert your hook in the space between the two double crochet clusters and yarn over.

19. Pull the yarn through. Now you have four loops on your hook.

20. Yarn over.

21. Pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have three loops on your hook.

22. Yarn over.

23. Pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have two loops on your hook.

24. Yarn over.

25. Pull the yarn through both loops. You have just made a treble crochet.

26. Chain two and make another treble crochet in the same space.

27. Chain two.

28. In space between the next two double crochet clusters make a treble crochet, chain two and another treble crochet.

29. Then repeat. Chain two.

30. In the space between the next two double crochet clusters make a treble crochet, chain two and another treble crochet.

31. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

32. At the end of the row chain one and make a treble crochet in the turning chain.

Row 3

33. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

34. In the next chain two space make three double crochets.

35. Chain three.

36. Make a slip stitch in the third chain from your hook.

37. Make two double crochets in the same chain two space.

38. Then repeat. Skip the next chain two space and in the next chain two space make three double crochets.

39. Chain three and make a slip stitch in the third chain from your hook.

40. Make two double crochets in the same chain two space.

41. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

42. At the end of the row skip the next chain of the turning chain and make a double crochet in the next one.

Row 4

43. Chain four and turn your work around. Chain four counts as a stitch.

44. Make a treble crochet in the first stitch.

45. Chain two.

46. In the space between the two double crochet clusters make a treble crochet, chain two and another treble crochet.

47. Then repeat. Chain two.

48. In the space between the next two double crochet clusters make a treble crochet, chain two and another treble crochet.

49. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

50. At the end of the row chain two and make two treble crochets in the turning chain.

Row 5

51. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

52. Make two double crochets in the first stitch.

53. Skip the next chain two space and make three double crochets in the next one.

54. Chain three and make a slip stitch in the third chain from your hook.

55. Make two double crochets in the same chain two space.

56. Then repeat. Skip the next chain two space and make three double crochets in the next one.

57. Chain three, make a slip stitch in the third chain from your hook and two double crochets in the same chain two space.

58. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

59. At the end of the row skip the last chain two space and make three double crochets in the turning chain. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-5.
