In this free step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the mixed diagonal shell stitch. This stitch is a solid, textured crochet stitch. It is also a reversible crochet stitch that looks the same on both sides. It creates dense, but not very thick fabric. It works great for washcloths, scarves, cardigans, wraps and other projects that need warmth, structure, and durability.

This crochet stitch tutorial includes detailed photo instructions. The mixed diagonal shell stitch is a one-row repeat. For this crochet stitch you should know how to make single crochet and double crochet. It is easy to make and suitable for beginners.
