Striped boxed picot stitch

In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the striped boxed picot stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes detailed photo instructions. Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of four plus three. You will start working in the fourth chain from your hook.

2. So, make a double crochet in the fourth chain from your hook.

3. Make another double crochet in the next stitch.

4. Next you will make a picot. So, chain three.

5. Insert your hook in the top of the double crochet that you have just made grabbing only the front loop.

6. Yarn over.

7. Pull the yarn through. Now you have two loops on your hook.

8. Pull the first loop through the second one to complete the slip stitch. You have just made a picot!

9. Make four double crochets in the next four stitches.

10. Chain three.

11. Make a slip stitch working in the top of the last double crochet.

12. Then repeat. Make four double crochets in the next four stitches.

13. Make a picot: chain three and make a slip stitch working in the top of the last double crochet.

14. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row, until you have two stitches left.

15. Then make two double crochets in the last two stitches.

Row 2

16. Chain six and turn your work around.

17. Make a double crochet in the fifth double crochet of the previous row.

18. Chain three, skip the next three double crochets and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

19. Then repeat. Chain three, skip the next three double crochets and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

20. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

21. At the end of the row make the last double crochet in the turning chain.

Row 3

22. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

23. Make two double crochets in the next chain three space.

24. Make a picot: chain three and make a slip stitch working in the top of the last double crochet.

25. Make a double crochet in the same chain three space.

26. Make a double crochet in the next double crochet.

27. Then repeat. Make two double crochets in the next chain three space.

28. Chain three and make a slip stitch working in the top of the last double crochet.

29. Make a double crochet in the same chain three space and another one in the next double crochet.

30. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

31. At the end of the row make two double crochets in the turning chain space.

32. Chain three and make a slip stitch working in the top of the last double crochet.

33. Make two double crochets in the turning chain space. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-3.
