The aligned arches stitch

In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the aligned arches stitch. For this crochet stitch you should know how to make a single crochet and a double crochet. The tutorial below shows how to make a double crochet two together stitch, a single crochet front loop only, and a double crochet and a treble crochet together.

The aligned arches stitch is a repeat of two rows. The fabric has a beautiful texture!

For this tutorial I use Hjertegarn Diamond mercerized cotton 8/4,  50 g = 165 m, color: sea green 706.

Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of seven plus two. You will start working in the second chain from your hook.

2. So, make a single crochet in the second chain from your hook.

3. Then make three more single crochet in the next three stitches.

4. Chain five.

5. Make a single crochet in the next stitch.

6. Make six more single crochets in the next six stitches.

7. Then repeat: chain five.

8. Make seven single crochets in the next seven stitches.

9. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

10. At the end of the row make four single crochets in the last four stitches.

Row 2

11. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

12. Make a single crochet in the very first stitch.

13. Then make a double crochet in the chain five space.

14. Make 11 more double crochets in the same chain five space.

15. Skip three single crochets of the previous row and make a single crochet in the next one.

16. Then make 12 double crochets in the chain five space.

17. Skip three stitches and make a single crochet in the next one.

18. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

19. Make the last single crochet in the last stitch of the row.

Row 3

20. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

21. Make a single crochet in the very first stitch.

22. Next you will skip one stitch and make a single crochet front loop only working in the front loop of the double crochet.

23. So, skip one stitch and insert your hook in the next one grabbing just the front loop.

24. Yarn over.

25. Pull the yarn through. Now you have two loops on your hook.

26. Yarn over.

27. Pull the yarn through both loops. You have just made a single crochet front loop only.

28. Then make four more single crochets front loop only.

29. Chain five.

30. Make five single crochets front loop only in the next five stitches.

31. Skip one stitch and make single crochet.

32. Then repeat: skip one stitch and make five single crochets front loop only.

33. Chain five.

34. Make five single crochets front loop only in the next five stitches, skip one stitch and make a single crochet.

35. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

36. At the end of the row skip one stitch and make a single crochet in the last stitch.

Row 4

37. Chain four and turn your work around. Chain four counts as a stitch.

38. Skip two stitches and make a double crochet in the next one.

39. Make 12 double crochets in the chain five space. Next you will make a double crochet two together.

40. So, yarn over.

41. Skip two stitches, insert your hook in the next one and yarn over.

42. Pull the yarn through. Now you have three loops on your hook.

43. Yarn over.

44. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. The first leg of the double crochet two together is ready.

45. Yarn over, skip five stitches and insert your hook in the next one. Yarn over.

46. Pull the yarn through. Now you have four loops on your hook.

47. Yarn over.

48. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have three loops on your hook. The second leg is ready.

49. Yarn over.

50. Pull the yarn through all three loops. You have just made a double crochet two together.

51. Then repeat: make 12 double crochets in the chain five space.

52. Make a double crochet two together (skip two stitches and make the first leg, skip five stiches and make the second leg).

53. Work in the same way until the end of the row. Next you will make a double crochet and a treble crochet together.

54. So, yarn over.

55. Skip one stitch, insert your hook in the next one and yarn over.

56. Pull the yarn through. Now you have three loops on your hook.

57. Yarn over.

58. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. The first leg is ready.

59. Yarn over twice.

60. Insert your hook in the last stitch and yarn over.

61. Pull the yarn through. Now you have five loops on your hook.

62. Yarn over.

63. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook.

64. Yarn over.

65. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have three loops on your hook.

66. Yarn over.

67. Pull the yarn through all three loops. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 3 and 4.

Finished aligned arches stitch

68. Done!
