Photo instructions for the bar crochet stitch

Row 1

1. Start by making a chain of multiples of three. You will start working in the second chain from your hook.

2. Make a single crochet in the second chain from your hook.

3. Then keep making single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.

4. Chain one.

Row 2

5. Turn your work around. Now you will work in the very first stitch like it is shown in the picture.

6. So, make a single crochet in the very first stitch.

7. Then keep making single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.

8. Chain one.

Row 3

9. Turn your work around.

10. Make two single crochets in the next two stitches (starting from the very first stitch).

11. Now you will make a front post double crochet working in the third single crochet of the first row (like it is indicated in the picture). So, yarn over.

12. Insert your hook bringing the post of the third single crochet in the first row to the front like it is shown in the picture.

13. Yarn over.

14. Pull the yarn through. Now you have three loops on your hook.

15. Yarn over.

16. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have two loops on your hook.

17. Yarn over.

18. Pull the yarn through both loops on your hook. You have just made a front post double crochet.

19. Next you have to skip one stitch that hides behind the front post double crochet and work in the next stitch like it is indicated in the picture.

20. So, make a single crochet.

21. Next you will make a front post double crochet. You have to skip two single crochets in the first row (since your first front post double crochet) and work in the third one like it is indicated in the picture.

22. So, skip those two single crochets in the first row and make a front post double crochet in the third one.

23. Then repeat until the end of the row: make two single crochets and a front post double crochet. The row ends with two single crochets.

24. At the end of the row chain one.

Row 4

25. Turn your work around.

26. Then make a single crochet in the very first stitch.

27. Keep making single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.

28. Then chain one.

Row 5

29. Turn your work around.

30. Then make a single crochet in the very first stitch.

31. Make another single crochet in the next stitch.

32. Now you will make a front post double crochet working in the front post double crochet two rows below. So, yarn over.

33. Insert your hook bringing the front post double crochet to the front like it is shown in the picture (you should grab only the front post double crochet and no fabric behind it).

34. Then yarn over.

35. Pull the yarn through. Now you have three loops on your hook.

36. Yarn over.

37. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have two loops on your hook.

38. Yarn over.

39. Pull the yarn through. You have just completed the front post double crochet.

40. Then skip one stitch that is hiding behind the front post double crochet (like before) and make two single crochets in the next two stitches.

41. Repeat until the end of the row: make a front post double crochet and then make two single crochets in the next two stitches. For the rest of the patterns repeat rows 4 and 5.
