The mixed triangles stitch

In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the mixed triangles stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes photo instructions and a video tutorial (see below). For this crochet stitch you should know how to make a single crochet and a double crochet. The tutorial below shows how to make a double crochet two together stitch. The mixed triangles stitch is a repeat of four rows. The fabric has a nice texture.

Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of six plus three. You will make a double crochet two together in the sixth chain from your hook.

2. So, yarn over.

3. Then insert your hook in the sixth chain from your hook and yarn over.

4. Pull the yarn through. Now you have three loops on your hook.

5. Yarn over.

6. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have two loops on your hook.

7. Yarn over.

8. Insert your hook in the same stitch and yarn over.

9. Pull the yarn through. Now you have four loops on your hook.

10. Yarn over.

11. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have three loops on your hook.

12. Yarn over.

13. Pull the yarn through all loops on your hook. You have just made a double crochet two together!

14. Chain three.

15. Then make another double crochet two together in the same stitch.

16. Chain one.

17. Skip five stitches and make a double crochet two together in the next stitch.

18. Chain three.

19. Make another double crochet two together in the same stitch.

20. Chain one.

21. Then repeat: skip five stitches and in the next stitch make a double crochet two together, chain three and one more double crochet two together in the same stitch, chain one.

22. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row until you have three stitches left. Don’t chain one as usually.

23. Instead make a double crochet in the last stitch.

Row 2

24. Chain one turn your work around.

25. Chain one does not count as a stitch. Make a single crochet in the very first stitch.

26. Then make another single crochet in the next stitch.

27. Make three single crochets in the chain three space.

28. Then make a single crochet in the double crochet two together of the previous row.

29. Make a single crochet in the chain one space.

30. Then make a single crochet in the next stitch.

31. Make three single crochets in the chain three space.

32. Make a single crochet in the next stitch.

33. Then make a single crochet in the chain one space.

34. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

35. At the end of the row make the last two single crochets in the double crochet two together and in the turning chain.

Row 3

36. Chain four and turn your work around. Chain four counts as a stitch.

37. Then make a double crochet two together in the very first stitch.

38. Chain one.

39. Skip five stitches and make a double crochet two together in the next stitch.

40. Chain three.

41. Then make another double crochet two together in the same stitch.

42. Chain one.

43. Then repeat: skip five stitches and in the next stitch make a double crochet two together, chain three and make another double crochet two together, chain one.

44. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

45. At the end of the row skip five stitches and make a double crochet two together in the last stitch.

46. Chain one.

47. Then make a double crochet in the same stitch.

Row 4

48. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

49. Make a single crochet in the very first stitch.

50. Then make a single crochet in the chain one space.

51. Make a single crochet in the next stitch.

52. Make a single crochet in the chain one space.

53. Then make a single crochet in the next stitch.

54. Make three single crochets in the chain three space.

55. Make a single crochet in the next stitch.

56. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

57. At the end of the row make a single crochet in the last double crochet two together of the previous row and in the turning chain space.

58. Then make the last single crochet in the turning chain.

Row 5

59. Chain three and turn your work around.

60. Make a double crochet two together in the fourth single crochet of the previous row.

61. Chain three.

62. Then make another double crochet two together in the same stitch.

63. Chain one.

64. Then repeat: skip five stitches and in the next stitch make a double crochet two together, chain three and make another double crochet two together, chain one.

65. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row. At the end of the row don’t chain one as usually.

66. Instead make a double crochet in the last stitch. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-5.

Finished mixed triangles stitch
