In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the raspberry stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes detailed photo instructions. For this stitch you should know how to make a single crochet. The tutorial below shows how to make a front post single crochet. The raspberry stitch is a repeat of two rows. The fabric turns out dense and it has a nice texture.
For this tutorial I use Hjertegarn DIAMOND 8/4 mercerized cotton 100% 50 g. Color: 434 (pink), and a 2.0 mm hook.

Photo instructions for the raspberry crochet stitch
Row 1

1. Start by chaining an even number of chains. You will start working in the second chain from your hook.

2. So, make a single crochet in the second chain from your hook.

3. Continue making single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.
Row 2

4. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

5. Make a single crochet in the first stitch. Next you will make a front post single crochet.

6. So, insert your hook bringing the post of the next stitch to the front.

7. Yarn over.

8. Pull the yarn through. Now you have two loops on your hook.

9. Yarn over.

10. Pull the yarn through both loops. You have just made a front post single crochet.

11. Make a single crochet in the next stitch.

12. Then make a front post single crochet in the next stitch.

13. Make a single crochet in the next stitch.

14. Then repeat: make a front post single crochet in the next stitch and a single crochet in the next one.

15. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row. The row should end with a single crochet.
Row 3

16. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

17. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.

18. Then make another single crochet in the next stitch.

19. Make a front post single crochet in the next stitch (the one that is more pronounced, closer to you).

20. Make a single crochet in the next stitch.

21. Then repeat: make a front post single crochet in the next stitch and a single crochet in the next one.

22. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row until you have one stitch left.

23. Then make a single crochet in the last stitch (the row should end with two single crochets). For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-3.
