Here is a free pattern for a cute crochet coaster Raspberry. This pattern uses the raspberry crochet stitch.

It is an easy pattern composed of single crochets and front post single crochets. Photo instructions show how to make this coaster step-by-step, including the front post single crochet. The pattern is quite simple and suitable for beginners.

  • Yarn: any thin yarn will work. I used Hjertegarn DIAMOND 8/4 mercerized cotton 100% 50 g. Colors: 434 (pink) and 3304 (lilac).
  • Hook: as suggested on your yarn label. I used hook size 2.0.

  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • fpsc: front post single crochet
  • rep * *: repeat from * to *

Notes

The size of my coaster is 9.0 x 9.0 cm.

First you will work in rows and then in rounds to make a nice border. This pattern uses the raspberry stitch. Photo instructions below show the main steps how to make this stitch. It is a repeat of two rows. For the raspberry stitch you should know how to make a front post single crochet: it is made in the same way as a single crochet, but instead of inserting your hook in the top of the next stitch, you have to insert your hook so that you would bring the post of the next stitch to the front (see photo instructions below).

The size of the coaster can be easily adjusted by chaining more or less in the beginning (keep in mind that it should be an even number) and repeating rows 2 and 3 until you will form a nice rectangle.
