The double crochet mesh stitch is a repeat of one row. It is reversible and looks the same on both sides. The fabric turns out very light and it has a simple texture which looks very nice.

Photo instructions for the double crochet mesh stitch
Row 1

1. Start by chaining any even number of chains. You will start working in the sixth chain from your hook.

2. So, make a double crochet in the sixth chain from your hook.

3. Chain one.

4. Skip one stitch and make a double crochet.

5. Chain one, skip one stitch and make a double crochet.

6. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row. The row should end with a double crochet.

7. At the end of the row chain four.
Row 2

8. Turn your work around. You will skip the chain one space and work in the double crochet of the previous row.

9. So, skip the chain one space and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

10. Chain one.

11. Skip the chain one space and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

12. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row: chain one, skip chain one space and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

13. At the end of the row, make a double crochet in the last double crochet of the previous row and chain one. Then skip one chain of the turning chain and make a double crochet in the next one. For the rest of the pattern repeat row 2.
