In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the eyelet and block stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes photo instructions and a video tutorial (see below). For this crochet stitch you should know how to make a single crochet and a double crochet. The eyelet and block stitch is a repeat of four rows. This stitch is very easy to make and it is suitable for beginners. The fabric turn out lacy and light.

Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of four plus two. You will start working in the second chain from your hook.

2. So, make a single crochet in the second chain from your hook.

3. Chain five.

4. Skip three stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.

5. Then repeat: chain five, skip three stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.

6. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.
Row 2

7. Chain five and turn your work around.

8. Then make a single crochet in the third chain of the chain five of the previous row.

9. Chain five.

10. Make a single crochet in the third chain of the next chain five.

11. Then repeat: chain five and make a single crochet in the third chain of the next chain five.

12. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

13. At the end of the row chain two.

14. Then make a double crochet in the last stitch (the last single crochet of the previous row).
Row 3

15. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

16. Make a single crochet in the very first stitch.

17. Chain three.

18. Make a single crochet in the third chain of the next chain five.

19. Chain three.

20. Make a single crochet in the third chain of the next chain five.

21. Then repeat: chain three and make a single crochet in the third chain of the next chain five.

22. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row. At the end of the row chain three as usually.

23. Then make a single crochet in the third chain of the turning chain.
Row 4

24. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

25. Make three double crochets in the next chain three space.

26. Make four double crochets in the next chain three space.

27. Then repeat: make four double crochets in the next chain three space.

28. At the end of the row make three double crochets in the last chain three space.

29. Then make a double crochet in the last stitch.
Row 5

30. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

31. Make a single crochet in the very first stitch.

32. Chain five.

33. Make a single crochet in between the two blocks of double crochets.

34. Chain five.

35. Make a single crochet in between the next two blocks of double crochets.

36. Then repeat: chain five and make a single crochet in between the next two blocks of double crochets.

37. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row. At the end of the row chain five as usually.

38. Then make a single crochet in the turning chain. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-5.
Finished eyelet and block stitch

39. Done!
