Zigzag eyelet stitch

In this free step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the zigzag eyelet stitch. This stitch is a lacy crochet stitch. The fabric turns out light and breathable. It works great for shawls and wraps, lightweight scarves, lacy crochet summer tops and tanks, market bags and other summer crochet projects. Materials and tools

Yarn: For this tutorial I use Hjertegarn DIAMOND mercerized cotton 100 % 8/4 50 g, color: 361 (grey). However, you can use your favorite yarn depending on the crochet project.

Hook: I use a 2.0 mm hook. If you are using a different yarn, choose the hook size that is recommended on your yarn label.

Photo instructions for the zigzag eyelet stitch

Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of ten. You will start working in the fourth chain from your hook.

2. So, make two double crochets in the fourth chain from your hook.

3. Skip two stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.

4. Skip two stitches and make three double crochets in the next stitch.

5. Chain three.

6. Skip three stitches and make three double crochets in the next stitch.

7. Skip two stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.

8. Then repeat. Skip the next two stitches and make three double crochets in the next stitch.

9. Chain three.

10. Skip the next three stitches and make three double crochets in the next stitch.

11. Skip two stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.

12. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row, until you have three stitches left.

13. Then skip two stitches and make three double crochets in the next stitch.

Row 2

14. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

15. Make a double crochet in the first stitch.

16. Chain three.

17. Skip the next five stitches and make three double crochets in the next stitch.

18. Make a single crochet in the next chain three space.

19. Make three double crochets in the next double crochet.

20. Then repeat. Chain three.

21. Skip the next five stitches and make three double crochets in the next stitch.

22. Make a single crochet in the next chain three space.

23. Make three double crochets in the next double crochet.

24. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

25. Then chain three and make two double crochets in the turning chain.

Row 3

26. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

27. Make two double crochets in the second stitch.

28. Make a single crochet in the next chain three space.

29. Make three double crochets in the next double crochet.

30. Chain three, skip five stitches and make three double crochets in the next stitch.

31. Make a single crochet in the next chain three space.

32. Then repeat. Make three double crochets in the next double crochet.

33. Chain three, skip the next five stitches and make three double crochets in the next stitch.

34. Make a single crochet in the next chain three.

35. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

36. At the end of the row make two double crochets in the last double crochet.

37. Then make a double crochet in the turning chain. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-3.
