In this tutorial I show how to make the extended single crochet. This crochet stitch tutorial includes detailed photo instructions. It is a very easy stitch suitable for beginners. The pattern is a repeat of one row. It is a reversible crochet stitch and it looks great on both sides.
For this tutorial I use Järbo 8/4 100% Cotton Mercerized & Gassed 50 g yarn, color: 32018 (linen), and a 2.0 mm hook.

Photo instructions for the extended single crochet
Row 1

1. Start by chaining any number of chains. You will start working in the third chain from your hook.

2. So, insert your hook in the third chain and yarn over.

3. Pull the yarn through. Now you have two loops on your hook.

4. Yarn over.

5. Pull the yarn through the first loop on your hook. Now you have two loops.

6. Yarn over.

7. Pull the yarn through both loops on your hook. You have just made an extended single crochet!

8. Make another extended single crochet in the next stitch.

9. Continue making extended single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.
Row 2

10. Chain two and turn your work around. Chain two counts as a stitch.

11. Make an extended single crochet in the second stitch.

12. Continue making extended single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.

13. At the end of the row make the last extended single crochet in the turning chain. For the rest of the pattern repeat row 2.
Finished extended single crochet

14. Done!
