Blueberry stitch

In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the blueberry stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes detailed photo instructions. For this crochet stitch you should know how to make a single crochet and a double crochet. The tutorial below shows how to make a puff stitch. The blueberry stitch is a repeat of four rows. The fabric turns out light.

Crochet stitch tutorial: Blueberry stitch

Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of six plus four. You will start working in the second chain from your hook.

2. So, make a single crochet in the second chain from your hook.

3. Continue making single crochets in every stitch until the end of the row.

Row 2

4. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

5. Make a double crochet in the second stitch.

6. Make another double crochet in the next stitch.

7. Chain one. Next you will skip one stitch and make a puff stitch.

8. So, yarn over.

9. Skip one stitch, insert your hook in the next stitch and yarn over.

10. Pull the yarn through. Make sure to make a slightly taller loop than usual. Now you have three loops on your hook.

11. Yarn over.

12. Insert your hook in the same stitch and yarn over.

13. Pull the yarn through. Now you have five loops on your hook.

14. Yarn over.

15. Insert your hook in the same stitch and yarn over.

16. Pull the yarn through. Now you have seven loops on your hook.

17. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first six loops. Now you have two loops on your hook.

18. Yarn over and pull the yarn through both loops. You have just made a puff stitch!

19. Chain one.

20. Skip one stitch and make three double crochets in the next three stitches.

21. Then repeat. Chain one, skip one stitch and make a puff stitch in the next stitch.

22. Chain one, skip one stitch and make three double crochets in the next three stitches.

23. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

Row 3

24. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

25. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.

26. Make two single crochets in the next two stitches.

27. Make a single crochet in the next chain one space.

28. Make a single crochet in the puff stitch.

29. Make a single crochet in the next chain one space.

30. Make three single crochets in the next three stitches.

31. Then repeat. Make a single crochet in the next chain one space.

32. Make a single crochet in the puff stitch and another one in the next chain one space.

33. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

34. At the end of the row make the last single crochet in the turning chain.

Row 4

35. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

36. Make a puff stitch in the second stitch.

37. Chain one, skip one stitch and make three double crochets in the next three stitches.

38. Chain one, skip one stitch and make a puff stitch in the next stitch.

39. Then repeat. Chain one, skip one stitch and make three double crochets in the next three stitches.

40. Chain one, skip one stitch and make a puff stitch in the next stitch.

41. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

42. At the end of the row make a double crochet in the last stitch.

Row 5

43. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

44. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.

45. Make a single crochet in the next stitch and another one in the next chain one space.

46. Make three single crochets in the next three stitches.

47. Then repeat. Make a single crochet in the next chain one space.

48. Make a single crochet in the next stitch and another one in the next chain one space.

49. Make three single crochets in the next three stitches.

50. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

51. At the end of the row make the last single crochet in the turning chain. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-5.
