In this free step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the lacy square and eyelet stitch. This stitch is a lacy crochet stitch. The fabric turns out light and breathable. It works great for shawls and wraps, lightweight scarves, lacy crochet summer tops and tanks, and other summer crochet projects. This stitch can also be used in decorative crochet projects for the home.
This crochet stitch tutorial includes detailed photo instructions. The lacy square and eyelet stitch is a repeat of two rows. For this crochet stitch you should know how to make single crochet and double crochet. This stitch is easy to make and suitable for beginners.

Materials and tools
Yarn: For this tutorial I use Soft FRAYA Cotton 8/4 100% Organic cotton 50g – 180 m yarn, color: dusty tulip. However, you can use your favorite yarn depending on the crochet project.
Hook: I use a 2.0 mm hook. If you are using a different yarn, choose the hook size that is recommended on your yarn label.

Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of six. You will start working in the ninth chain from your hook.

2. So, make a single crochet in the ninth chain from your hook.

3. Chain three, skip two stitches and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

4. Chain three, skip two stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.

5. Then repeat. Chain three, skip two stitches and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

6. Chain three, skip two stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.

7. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row, until you have three stitches left.

8. Then chain three, skip the next two stitches and make a double crochet in the last stitch.
Row 2

9. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

10. Make a double crochet in the next chain three space.

11. Chain three and make a double crochet in the next chain three space.

12. Make a double crochet in the next stitch and another one in the next chain three space.

13. Then repeat. Chain three and make a double crochet in the next chain three space.

14. Make a double crochet in the next stitch and another one in the next chain three space.

15. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

16. Then chain three as usual and make two double crochets in the turning chain space.
Row 3

17. Chain six and turn your work around.

18. Make a single crochet in the next chain three space.

19. Chain three, skip the next double crochet and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

20. Chain three and make a single crochet in the next chain three space.

21. Then repeat. Chain three, skip the next double crochet, make a double crochet in the next stitch, chain three, make a single crochet in the next chain three space.

22. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

23. At the end of the row chain three and make a double crochet in the turning chain. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-3.
