In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the aligned fan stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes photo instructions and a video tutorial (see below). For this crochet stitch you should know how to make a single crochet and a double crochet. The tutorial below shows how to make a treble crochet. The aligned fan stitch is a repeat of two rows. The fabric turns out light and lacy. This stitch is suitable for beginners.
For this tutorial I use Soft FRAYA Cotton 8/4 100% Organic cotton 50g – 180 m yarn, color: navy blue, and a 2.0 mm hook.

Row 1
1. Start by chaining a multiple of eight plus four. You will start working in the eighth chain from your hook.
2. So, make a double crochet in the eighth chain from your hook.
3. Chain three.
4. Then make another double crochet in the same stitch.
5. Chain three.
6. Skip seven stitches and make a double crochet in the next stitch.
7. Chain three.
8. Make another double crochet in the same stitch.
9. Chain three.
10. Then repeat: skip seven stitches and in the next stitch make a double crochet, chain three and make another double crochet, chain three.
11. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row until you have four stitches left.
12. Then chain one.
13. Skip three stitches and make a double crochet in the last stitch.
Row 2
14. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.
15. Make a single crochet in the very first stitch.
16. Then make a double crochet in the chain three space.
17. Make six more double crochets in the same chain three space.
18. Then make a single crochet in the next chain three space.
19. Make seven double crochets in the next chain three space.
20. Make a single crochet in the next chain three space.
21. Then repeat: make seven double crochets in the next chain three space, make a single crochet in the next chain three space.
22. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.
23. At the end of the row make the last single crochet in the turning chain.
Row 3
24. Chain five and turn your work around.
25. Then make a double crochet in the fourth double crochet of the previous row.
26. Chain three.
27. Then make another double crochet in the same stitch.
28. Chain three.
29. Skip seven stitches and in the next one make a double crochet, chain three and make another double crochet.
30. Chain three.
31. Then repeat: skip seven stitches and in the next one make a double crochet, chain three, make another double crochet and chain three.
32. Continue working in the same way until you have four stitches left. Then chain one. You will make a treble crochet in the last stitch.
33. So, yarn over twice.
34. Insert your hook in the last stitch and yarn over.
35. Pull the yarn through. Now you have four loops on your hook.
36. Yarn over.
37. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have three loops on your hook.
38. Yarn over.
39. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have two loops on your hook.
40. Yarn over.
41. Pull the yarn through both loops. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-3.
Finished aligned fan stitch
42. Done!
