The basket weave stitch

In this step-by-step crochet tutorial I show how to make the basket weave crochet stitch. This stitch is quite easy to make even though it might look a bit complicated. All you need to know is front post and back post double crochets. The basket crochet stitch is a repeat of four rows. It is reversible and looks the same on both sides.

For this tutorial I use Hjertegarn DIAMOND mercerized cotton 100% 8/4 50g yarn, color: 3304 (lilac), and a 2.0 mm hook.
