The bird footprint stitch

In this free step-by-step crochet tutorial I show how to make the bird footprint stitch. This stitch is a solid, textured crochet stitch. It creates dense, durable fabric and works great for potholders, washcloths, decorative pillow covers, laptop sleeves, blankets, scarves and other projects that need warmth, structure, and durability.

This crochet stitch tutorial includes detailed photo instructions. The bird footprint stitch is a repeat of two rows. For this stitch you should know how to make single crochet and double crochet. The photo tutorial below shows how to make a back post single crochet.
