The flower and triangle stitch

In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the flower and triangle stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes photo instructions and a video tutorial (see below). For this crochet stitch you should know how to make a single crochet and a double crochet. The tutorial below shows how to make a double crochet two together stitch. The flower and triangle stitch is a repeat of four rows. The fabric turns our light and lacy and it has a beautiful texture.

For this tutorial I use Soft FRAYA Cotton 8/4 100% Organic cotton 50g – 180 m yarn, color: dusty tulip, and a 2.0 mm hook.

Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of ten. You will start working in the fifth chain from your hook.

2. So, make a double crochet in the fifth chain from your hook.

3. Chain four.

4. Skip two stitches and in the next stitch make a single crochet.

5. Chain one, skip one stitch and make a single crochet in the next one.

6. Chain four. Next you will make a double crochet two together (dc2tog) working in the third and in the fifth stitch.

7. So, yarn over.

8. Skip two stitches and insert your hook in the next one. Yarn over.

9. Pull the yarn through. Now you have three loops on your hook.

10. Yarn over.

11. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have two loops on your hook. The first leg is ready.

12. Yarn over.

13. Skip one stitch and insert your hook in the next one. Yarn over.

14. Pull the yarn through. Now you have four loops on your hook.

15. Yarn over.

16. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have three loops on your hook. The second leg is done.

17. Yarn over.

18. Pull the yarn through all loops. You have just made a dc2tog!

19. Chain four.

20. Skip two stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.

21. Chain one, skip one stitch and make a single crochet in the next one.

22. Then repeat: chain four, make a dc2tog working in the third and in the fifth stitch, chain four, skip two stitches, make a single crochet, chain one, skip one stitch, make a single crochet.

23. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row. The row should end with a single crochet.

Row 2

24. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch. Next you will make a dc2tog working in the chain one space.

25. So, make the first leg in the chain one space.

26. Then make the second leg in the same chain one space.

27. Yarn over and pull the yarn through all loops on your hook.

28. Chain one and make another dc2tog working in the same chain one space.

29. Chain two.

30. Then make a single crochet in the dc2tog of the previous row.

31. Chain two.

32. Make a dc2tog in the next chain one space.

33. Chain one and make the second dc2tog in the same chain one space.

34. Chain one and make the third dc2tog in the same chain one space.

35. Chain two.

36. Make a single crochet in the dc2tog of the previous row.

37. Then repeat: chain two, in the next chain one space make a dc2tog, chain one, the second dc2tog, chain one, the third dc2tog, chain two and make a single crochet in the next dc2tog of the previous row.

38. Continue working the same way until the end of the row. At the end of the row chain two as usually.

39. Make a single crochet in the last double crochet of the previous row.

40. Then make another single crochet in the turning chain.

Row 3

41. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

42. Make a single crochet in the very first stitch and chain one.

43. Then make a single crochet in the next chain two space.

44. Chain four. Next you will make a dc2tog working in the next two chain one spaces.

45. So, make the first leg in the next chain one space.

46. Then make the second leg in the next chain one space.

47. Yarn over and pull the yarn through all loops.

48. Chain four.

49. Make a single crochet in the next chain two space.

50. Chain one and make another single crochet in the next chain two space.

51. Then repeat: chain four, make a dc2tog working in the next two chain one spaces, chain four, make a single crochet in the next chain two space, chain one, make a single crochet in the next chain two space.

52. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row. At the end of the row chain four as usually.

53. Make a double crochet in the last chain one space.

54. Then make a double crochet in the turning chain.

Row 4

55. Chain one and turn your around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

56. Make a single crochet in the very first stitch.

57. Then make another single crochet in the next stitch.

58. Chain two.

59. In the next chain one space make: dc2tog, chain one, dc2tog, chain one, dc2tog.

60. Chain two.

61. Then make a single crochet in the dc2tog of the previous row.

62. Then repeat: chain four, in the next chain one space make dc2tog, chain one, dc2tog, chain one, dc2tog, chain two, make a single crochet in the next dc2tog.

63. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

64. At the end of the row chain two as usually.

65. In the last chain one space make dc2tog, chain one, dc2tog.

66. Then make a double crochet in the last stitch.

Row 5

67. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

68. Make a double crochet in the next chain one space.

69. Chain four.

70. Make a single crochet in the next chain two space.

71. Chain one and make another single crochet in the next chain two space.

72. Chain four.

73. Make a dc2tog working in the next two chain one spaces.

74. Chain four.

75. Make a single crochet in the next chain two space, chain one and make a single crochet in the next chain two space.

76. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

77. At the end of the row chain four as usually.

78. Then make a single crochet in the last chain two space.

79. Chain one and make a single crochet in the last stitch. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-5.
