Cluster stitch

In this tutorial I show how to make the cluster stitch working in rounds. For this stitch you need to know how to make a chain, a slip stitch and a single crochet and a double crochet three together (dc3tog). It is a repeat of two rounds.

Round 2

1. Start with a base of single crochets (this is round 1). Then chain two.

2. Then skip one stitch and make a single crochet back loop only. In round 2 you can also make simple single crochets instead.

3. Then chain one.

4. Skip one stitch and make a single crochet back loop only.

5. Keep working in the same way until the end of the round, then chain one as usually.

6. Join with a slip stitch to the chain that you make in the beginning of this round.

Round 3

7. Chain three.

8. Yarn over.

9. Insert your hook in the first chain one space of the previous round.

10. Yarn over.

11. Pull the yarn through. Now you have three loops on your hook.

12. Yarn over.

13. Pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have two loops on your hook.

14. Yarn over.

15. Then insert your hook in the same chain one space.

16. Yarn over and pull the yarn through. Now you have four loops on your hook.

17. Yarn over.

18. Then pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now you have three loops on your hook.

19. Yarn over.

20. Insert your hook in the same chain one space.

21. Yarn over and pull the yarn through. Now you have five loops on your hook.

22. Yarn over.

23. Pull the yarn through the first two loops. Now your have four loops on your hook.

24. Yarn over.

25. Pull the yarn through all four loops on your hook. You have just made a double crochet three together (a cluster stitch).

26. Then chain one.

27. Make a double crochet three together in the next chain one space of the previous round. Chain one.

28. Keep making double crochets three together until the end of the round. For the last cluster stitch don’t chain one.

29. Instead join with a slip stitch to the chain three that you made in the beginning of this round.

Round 4

30. Chain two.

31. Insert your hook into the space between two cluster stitches of the previous round.

32. Make a single crochet.

33. Then chain one.

34. Make a single crochet in the next space between two cluster stitches of the previous round.

35. Keep working in the same way until the end of the round. When you reach the end, chain one as usually.

36. Then join with a slip stitch to the chain two (the first chain) that you made in the beginning.

37. For the rest of the pattern repeat rounds 3 and 4. Done!
