In this step-by-step crochet stitch tutorial I show how to make the uneven sprouting plant stitch. This crochet stitch tutorial includes photo instructions and a video tutorial (see below). For this crochet stitch you should know how to make a single crochet and a double crochet. The tutorial below shows how to make a double crochet three together stitch. The uneven sprouting plant stitch is a repeat of four rows. The fabric turns out light and it has a beautiful texture.

For this tutorial I use Hjertegarn Diamond mercerized cotton 8/4, 50 g = 165 m, color: sea green 706, and a 2.0 mm hook.

Row 1

1. Start by chaining a multiple of six plus two. You will start working in the second chain from your hook.

2. So, make a single crochet in the second chain from your hook.

3. Then chain two.

4. Skip two stitches and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

5. Chain two.

6. Skip two stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.

7. Chain two, skip two stitches and make a double crochet in the next stitch.

8. Chain two, skip two stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.

9. Then repeat: chain two, skip two stitches, make a double crochet, chain two, skip two stitches and make a single crochet.

10. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row. The row should end with a single crochet.

Row 2

11. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.

12. Next you will make a double crochet three together working in the double crochet of the previous row. So, yarn over.

13. Insert your hook in the top of the double crochet and yarn over.

14. Pull the yarn through. Now you have three loops on your hook.

15. Yarn over.

16. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have two loops on your hook.

17. Yarn over.

18. Insert your hook in the same stitch and yarn over.

19. Pull the yarn through. Now you have four loops on your hook.

20. Yarn over.

21. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have three loops on your hook.

22. Yarn over.

23. Insert your hook in the same stitch and yarn over.

24. Pull the yarn through. Now you have five loops on your hook.

25. Yarn over.

26. Pull the yarn through the first two loops on your hook. Now you have four loops on your hook.

27. Yarn over.

28. Pull the yarn through all four loops. You have just made a double crochet three together!

29. Chain three.

30. Then make another double crochet three together in the same stitch.

31. Make a double crochet in the single crochet of the previous row.

32. Make a double crochet three together in the next double crochet.

33. Chain three.

34. Make another double crochet three together in the same stitch.

35. Make a double crochet in the next single crochet.

36. Then repeat: in the next double crochet make a double crochet three together, chain three and another double crochet three together, then make a double crochet in the next single crochet.

37. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

38. The row should end with a double crochet made in the last stitch.

Row 3

39. Chain five and turn your work around.

40. Then make a single crochet in the chain three space of the previous row.

41. Chain two.

42. Then make a double crochet in the double crochet of the previous row.

43. Chain two.

44. Make a single crochet in the next chain three space.

45. Then repeat: chain two, make a double crochet in the next double crochet, chain two and make a single crochet in the next chain three space.

46. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

47. At the end of the row make the last double crochet in the turning chain.

Row 4

48. Chain five and turn your work around.

49. Then make a double crochet three together in the very first stitch.

50. Make a double crochet in the next single crochet of the previous row.

51. Make a double crochet three together in the next double crochet.

52. Chain three.

53. Then make another double crochet three together in the same stitch.

54. Make a double crochet in the next single crochet.

55. Then repeat: in the next double crochet make a double crochet three together, chain three and another double crochet three together, then make a double crochet in the next single crochet.

56. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

57. At the end of the row make a double crochet three together in the third chain of the turning chain.

58. Chain two and make a double crochet in the same stitch.

Row 5

59. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.

60. Make a single crochet in the very first stitch.

61. Chain two.

62. Make a double crochet in the double crochet of the previous row.

63. Chain two.

64. Then make a single crochet in the chain three space.

65. Then repeat: chain two, make a double crochet in the double crochet, chain two and make a single crochet in the chain three space.

66. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.

67. At the end of the row make the last single crochet in the third chain of the turning chain. For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-5.
